The groundworks of the temple are nearing completion.

Frontage of the project

The following drawing shows the main elevation of the future lhakhang (temple).
Designed by Ugyen Chophel, the lhakhang will adopt the classical rectangular layout.
Overhanging the main entrance, a corbel will be made of finely worked wood.
The multiple roof will also be a real improvement to the initial state.

These photographies show the Chungkhar monastery at different periods, from the time of Garab Dorje and Dorje Wangmo to nowadays.
Drubpon Ngawang and his siblings rebuilt Chungkhar in the memory of their parents whose great regret was to have been unable to preserve the familial monastery, due to a lack of means.
This first restoration did not withstand the particularly violent earthquake of September 2009.

Works : Feb. 2010 (part2)

Here is the second part of the photos shot in February.
Thanks to a rented mechanical digger, deep pits were dug for the reinforced concrete foundations.
